Hamburg, information about the way to and from the airport

Within Hamburg the airport is well signposted.

Bus:

Directly in front of the terminal are bus stops for regular public buses (run by HHV) and the AirportExpress.

Taxi:

There are taxi ranks in front of all terminals. Journey time to the city centre is around 30 minutes.
Fares to the centre are around €20. Tip: for journeys to and from places outside Hamburg agree on a fixed price at the outset.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve your car here and get great bargains.

The airport is around 8 km north-west of the city centre.

The Airport Office on the arrivals level in Terminal 2 offers extensive services for tourists. Opening hours: 6:00 to 23:00.
Germanwings Airport Sales are open daily from 04:30 - 22:00. For departures outside these opening hours the Airport Sales counter is staffed 2 hours before departure (except public holidays).

Parking:

The "Airport Parking" guidance system at Hamburg Airport gives information about free parking spaces on the approach to the airport and shows you the shortest way to them, regardless of whether you want to use the P1 to P5 parking areas, which are near to the terminal, or the P8/P9 parking area on Weg beim Jäger Street. Overall the airport has more than 11,000 parking spaces.
